Hi, I’m Emmanuel Knight (he/him), a Brooklyn-born and based manga artist, illustrator, and facilitator. I’m the creator of Magna AX, a self-published urban fantasy manga inspired by the JRPGs (Japanese Roleplaying Games) & '90s/'00s anime I grew up with—think Toonami, The Anime Network, and PlayStation-era titles. My love for typography and print media was sparked by old gaming magazines, which continue to shape my visual style and design sensibility.
With over 10 chapters and 300+ pages, Magna AX blends the best of Shonen and Shojo manga—dynamic fights, visual narrative, romance, and resilience—all layered with video game-style menus and immersive design.
I write, draw, and hand-produce everything at my table. From comic zines to DVD-style prints, I create media-inspired merch that bridges retro and modern—honoring the past while bringing a fresh, personal twist to every one of my pieces.
I’ve showcased at conventions like Awesome Con and Brooklyn Comic Con, and I serve as the Artist Relations Lead and Graphic Designer for AniTOMO Con, helping build spaces where indie creators can thrive. As a Black American mangaka, that mission is critical to me. I want to inspire others to tell their stories their way—just like I do.
Whether it’s comics or merchandise, everything I make is crafted by hand, with heart.
